Look, don't get me wrong...


The handmade cards and what-exactly-is-this macaroni and glitter craft that arrive home from pre-school every Mother's Day are adorable. 


Sweet nothings penned by the teacher accompanied by scribbles from my kids take pride of place on the shelf for a few weeks, before being relegated to an overflowing memory box.


 Those are just lovely, truly.


But… mama also wants a treat. An uninterrupted coffee, sleep in, and a gift voucher for some kind of three hour long spa decadence is always my first choice of gift from my tribe.
